Winter Wednesdays/Here and Now Images

Now that I finally have all of the images posted, and rearranged a bit, you can see all of them here. The new ones are the Feb. 20 and 22 performances. And there seems to be an issue with some browsers and linking directly to specific images at the moment, so direct links to images aren’t working . . . sorry.

St. Pat’s 2008

Josh Hailey's attention to detail

By popular demand (and popular demand just means more than three here at Vindauga). . . here are my shots from the parade yesterday. Continue reading ‘St. Pat’s 2008′

Server issues

The hosting company I use lost a drive on “server43″ which happens to be where Vindauga is hosted.  So, if you commented in the last three days (evidentially how long since they last backed up my site), then it is gone into the ether. Or if you are hud and posted anything recently, that is gone as well. Sorry.

Chelsea Clinton in Jackson, Mississippi

Chelsea Clinton in Jackson MississippiI hung around Cups in Fondren this morning until Chelsea made her appearance, you can see all the photos at Light and Glass.

Barack Obama

Jerri and I, and numerous others, went to the Barack Obama rally at Jackson State University (slightly west of downtown Jackson, Mississippi) tonight. I was fortunate enough to receive press credentials and was therefore able to get a few good photos during the event. They are all available at Light and Glass. Currently the photos are unedited and there are 438 images, but over the next few days I will edit the album down.

New Ideas, or Re-working Old Ideas

I was very excited about this image when I first showed it to Jerri for her opinion (an essential part of my process, despite the fact that I don’t always listen). She told me she liked it, and then . . . “people will probably just think you did it digitally though.” Thus one of the most under-reported problems with the age of digital imaging rears its ugly head again. You can be Jerry Ulesman in the darkroom, and if you do something absolutely amazing, but it looks like something that could have been done in photoshop, no one cares. (I am not trying to imply my image is amazing.) The default has become assuming the image is altered; if it looks too anything to be true, assume photoshop. Here and Now @ 121 Studios

More improv pics . . . I didn’t intend for Daniel to be the post photo for this one too, but it is hard to top cutting off your dreads for an improv . . .

The rest of the photos are here.

[UPDATE: Sherry Lucas had a very complimentary article in today’s Clarion Ledger]

New Paint

This past weekend Jerri and I took advantage of the fine weather on several occasions. One of those occasions was when we finally got around to painting the exterior of the studio. Continue reading ‘New Paint’

And now for something Old . . .

I shot a fashion spread for JFP back in the beginning of November, which I said I would put online.  Well I just got to it.  All of the images are here.

Here and Now

The Mississippi Improv Alliance had an event this past Wednesday at Belhaven College’s dance studio. It was organized by daniel johnson, who was kind enough to invite me to participate. As many of you know, I don’t have a knack for improv, so I took pictures. I set up my camera, computer and projector where images were projected immediately after I shot them on a screen to the right side of the performance. All of the images are over at lightandglass.net and you can even see the screen set up in a few of them. Continue reading ‘Here and Now’
