I can’t get real excited about Chantal; she is parallel with Massachusetts and heading for Greenland. Continue reading ‘Tropical Storm Chantal’

Okay, not really, but Wah posting pictures really does inspire me to do more myself (or maybe I just want to procrastinate). Continue reading ‘Trying to keep up with the Jones’’
This weekend I got the opportunity to take photographs of what will hopefully be the transitional stage of work on one of downtown Jackson’s landmarks, the King Edward Hotel. I added all of the images to the end of my “Jackson Series” album.
This tour will go down in history as one of the most bizarre. Rasmussen is out for lying about his location for when he missed a drug screening. There are some reports that Rabobank will withdraw, but I have also seen news to the contrary (I haven’t watched any of today’s stage yet). Team Cofidis has pulled out of the race after Cristian Moreni tested positive for synthetic testosterone. (Moreni was arrested by French police at the race finish.) And the cherry on top, team Estana quit the tour after Alexander Vinokourov tested positive for a blood transfusion.
Oh, this post just felt like it needed to go in the hud stuff category . . . sorry hud.
As some of you may know, Jerri and I just returned from Portland yesterday. All the images from the trip are in a new album.
I created a black and white conversion action for photoshop cs2, but it still requires you to make some adjustments on your own. The same basic principle applies as when you use the channel mixer for color images. The tutorial for the conversion without the action is below.

Personally, I like Survivor Man better. Continue reading ‘Survivor Man or Man Versus Wild’
I assume I am a lot like everyone else in my dread of Mondays, but today happened to be a particularly decent Monday. First off, I didn’t go into work, which alone would have made it a good day. Second, I actually managed to run many of the errands I intended to, and I finally got my grass cut (accomplishing everything on my list for the day). And finally, as an added bonus, I happened to get some pretty good shots of democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, when he stopped in Canton, Mississippi this afternoon.
In one of Hud’s recent posts he alluded to using the channel mixer in photoshop in a way I had shown him . . . so I thought I would share. Tutorial is below: Continue reading ‘Channel Mixer Tutorial - Photoshop CS2′
I took the Nikon out again. And had more fun with Photo Shop. Continue reading ‘I might have overdone this’
