I have been taking some pictures for the Jackson Free Press lately, and I just added some of them to the portrait gallery. One series I am especially happy with is of Katrina victims who have relocated to jackson.

Jerri recently turned in her application to the craftsmans guild, which included several new images of her work. Some of the pieces are older designs, but there are also some very original new designs as well.
I also did multiple views of a few 3-d pieces, all of which can be found in the glass gallery. And in case you are wondering why I swapped to the gray background, the craftsmans guild actually suggested using gray. I’m pretty happy with the gray, especially with the overhead spot. I had a photography professor in college who was adamant that if we turned in a series of work each piece had to stand on its own, no matter how well it worked as a series. Since Marylyn Dintenfass was done with her education in the sixties, I doubt she had the same professor, but nonetheless she has the same ethic for her grid pieces, each quadrant must be able to stand on its own and work with the other quadrants of the grid layout. I talked with Marylyn about her choice of the fourth quadrant, its meaning, and new work that was created specifically for her Work In Progress installation currently on display at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
