[UPDATE: Joseph's writing from the improv event can be found below. ]

Last night I had the pleasure of participating in/documenting an improvisational event at Bellhaven College. It took place in the dance studio of the new performing and visual arts building. Click on the image above to view the album with all the photos.

I finally got around to the much overdo updating of some of Jayrah’s art glass photos. Sadly, it wasn’t even for either of our sites, it was to use for a craft fair application. (Jayrah will be selling her wares at the Clinton Brickstreet Market this Saturday.)
In my traditional style, I was a little obsessive. I have never been very happy with many of my photos of Jayrah’s glass, there are just too many distracting reflections. The solution to this problem is an easy one, but building a light tent to photograph glass in took a while to work its way up the priority list. Saturday May sixth is the “Milsaps Avenue Arts District Exhibition.” The public is invited to view exhibitions of local artists and view some working studios in the district. The participating studios are Pearl River Glass Studio, Studio 2, Seven Studioz, and R. Potter Designs. This event will serve as Pearl River’s annual spring Garden Show, and with the support of Andrew Young from Pearl River, other local artists have turned it into a neighborhood festival by coordinating their shows and music to bring in a diverse crowd of Jackson residents. All of the studios, except Seven Studioz, will open at noon and provide entertainment and refreshments until 6p.m. Seven Studioz will open at 3p.m. and continue the event well into the evening.

I’ve been meaning to post these for a while . . .
they are all long exposures, so sharpness is less than perfect, but many are entertaining despite the flaws. I have no logical explanation for the intensity of the magenta wall color, I in no way altered it. Click on the image to go to the folder of all the images.
