Icarus, high up on Empire State - Lewis Wickes Hine
Starting today the digital collections section of the New York Public Library is available online. All images produced prior to 1923 are in the public domain; therefore the collection is heavily weighted pre-1923. Although this weighting of the collection leaves out a considerable amount of work, there is still a plethora of wonderful images freely available. Just don’t make money from your use of the images, and you are in the clear.
I am no huge fan of reality-tv. I have a lot of friends who love reality-tv (this sounds like something a racist says). Most of the time the subject matter is not interesting to me, or there is just too much effort required to get to know this massive cast simply to empathize as they are whittled down. I really don’t know why I don’t like it. But if there was ever one reality show (outside of the restaurant one) aimed at me as a demographic, it would be Artstar. Continue reading ‘Artstar’
