Vindauga

In honor of my mother’s birthday I thought I should at the very least post a photo of her. This is a portrait I took several years ago.

It probably isn’t the flattering picture she would have liked for me to have posted, but I like it. It has all of those things in it that make me think of her, the old quilt, some kitschy bird house, antique furniture, and anything having to do with University of Alabama football.

She deserves as much credit, if not more, as anyone else for encouraging me to pursue photography. She has supported both financially and emotionally. She has always believed in me. And though always well meaning, yet sometimes to my chagrin, she has liked and displayed every piece of artwork I have ever given her, from Jr. High to three years ago. Unfortunately, she never removes anything from display.
