Just listened to a phone message from Gorjus where he only used his last name, sounded odd to me. But it reminded me that I have been meaning to upload a photo of him.

    he looks really freckled in this photo. where were you when this was taken?

    cool shot, btw, i like the shadows. i also like how it looks like this picture could have been taken fifty years ago.

    I was going to ask if you had a special freckle lens for your camera, he is freckle-o-matic.

    i know! i never really thought of him being that freckly. but, i don’t spend a whole lot of time gazing into my brother’s face.

    If you shoot with black and white film, or black and white settings on a digital camera, a green filter placed over the lens will add contrast to red areas, such as lips and freckles. Conversely, if you shoot color digital, and then isolate the “r” or red channel from a RGB file and convert it to grayscale you will get the same effect.

    There will be a test on this material monday.

    jp!, i would hate for you to look at me like that! lordy knows i got enough of them without the super-enhancement.

    so, what you are saying, wah, is that the black and white one that i sent you of my daughter, i could do that, too?

    I think, if I remember all this correctly, that it has to be done to the initial image. That is, either on the lens before the image is imprinted on the negative or on the lens before the image is saved on the disk. Wah, will know better.
