Here and Now

The Mississippi Improv Alliance had an event this past Wednesday at Belhaven College’s dance studio. It was organized by daniel johnson, who was kind enough to invite me to participate. As many of you know, I don’t have a knack for improv, so I took pictures. I set up my camera, computer and projector where images were projected immediately after I shot them on a screen to the right side of the performance. All of the images are over at lightandglass.net and you can even see the screen set up in a few of them.

Just because of the obvious connections, here is a link to the last improv held there.

And . . . there will be another improv performance each Wednesday night in February. The next one is 7-9 p.m. at 121 studios (121 millsaps ave.), then on Feb. 20th 8-10 p.m. @ Rainbow Cooperative in Fondren, and Feb. 27th 8-10 p.m. @ Seven Studioz in the Millsaps Arts District

you got into the improv bro -

especially in the way you were using the light during the exposure and when you did the series with Steve’s hand and the screen….

it definitely seemed like you were conscious of your real-time output and the some sense of development and interaction with what was afoot.
