Christo Parody

I am attempting to have a more open mind towards the work of Jeanne-Claude and Christo. I would like to claim that I am just that reasonable of a person, but that is not true. I unfortunately have to have a really good argument presented to me (i.e. spoon fed) before I will even begin to evaluate my own opinions, no matter the basis.

After that intro of self handicapping, here is the parody link.

That is hilarious. I think my favorite are the tub gates. That is a fine, fine parody. And for the record i think the gates thing is weak. I think at least the islands seem to be saying something, wrapped coast too, but the gates just seem…grasping?

Oh, no, I completely disagree. They bring a colorful beauty, a man-made canopy, in a time when the park is gray and empty. And by calling them “gates” (as opposed to, um, flags, or whatever), there’s an emphasis that you’re traveling through something wonderful.

As in, every step through the park should be cherished. Even though it might be a place of beauty and wonder at other times, this makes you go, I’m alive, I’m walking through this pretty place, and I should be happy.
