So, it has been pointed out to me that my posts have had a very angry sound of late. I don’t mean them to, in fact I don’t think its very representative of my general condition, but there you have it. So, in an effort to put forth a more upbeat online persona, I give you this.
Right after Christmas I got a digitial camera. Actually, I got two digital cameras. I got a Canon Powershot A610. I think it is great, I love it. I went looking for something to replace my old Olympus point and shoot, which I use out and about but I couldn’t get myself to demand less of a camera. That is, I really wanted some of the features that this camera has. Plus, it allows me to stay in the canon camp, so I’m not completely riding Wah coattails (that Nikon lover). But its the other camera that I want to talk about right now.
While looking for the camera I eventually bought I came across a plastic cased camera that goes by the name Ion. Now, this is most likely the worst name for a camera that you could come up with. Every other camera on the market has a lithium-ion battery. This means that it is downright impossible to find this camera listed anywhere on the net; maybe you are better at finding stuff than I am. No matter.
This little camera cost me 25 bucks, it takes 26 pictures and runs on one AAA battery. The images are 640×480 and, because of the blurring at the edges and the cost, are reminiscient of a Holga (which I’ve been told, by a certain stretcher of truth who shall remain names, was named after a spendthrift wife). I think this little thing is a lot of fun. Its got no screen but then aren’t we all getting a little spoiled by being able to see our pictures immediately anyway?
Whatever, enough jibber-jabber, here’s an example. I shrunk it a bit, just because. As soon as I get a bit more time, I’ll post some more.

I want one.
Didn’t I give you that Holga? Who told you the cheap wife story?
You did. I retold that to my mom and several other people thinking that it was true.
was I drunk? I thought I had never heard it before reading it in your post . . . sorry.
Man, that makes the pictures even better!! Looks nice. I like the edge blur.
Wah, you had a whole backstory and everything. If you made that up on the spot you deserve some sort of oscar for extemporaneous pontification. I don’t think I found out that the story was bogus for months.
