My favorite of this posting is the cable/wood thing. I like that a lot. I’m a sucker for b&w or sepia or the like, especially when they are focused on non-descript worn man-made things. Bravo!
I also like the colors in the green and red engine partsish one.
It’s odd to see your mom not smiling. Whenever I’ve been around her she’s always laughing and joking. But its a good portrait, none the less. She might consider wearing only the make-up she has on there. She really doesn’t need it from what I can see in this image.
I don’t really have anything different to add in terms of comments, I just wanted to chime in and say that I agree. I really like the cable/wood thing.
