Rules are made to be broken, right? I guess it isn’t really a rule, but you seldom see pictures of people with their eyes closed where it wasn’t an accident. Maybe mine is an accident too, except I have at least ten more where her eyes aren’t closed and I still like this one best. So serendipitous, but my choice. I don’t even know for sure why I like it.
David Sedaris comments in one of his books about how his family is unwilling to tell him stories anymore because they are scared of ending up in one of his books. If in my magical imaginary world my family portraits became famous, I think my family would stop letting me take pictures of them.
Yep. I am suddenly glad you aren’t taking a picture of me. Not that you don’t take good pictures. I just am not yet ready to expose every defect of my skin.

Heh. I was thinking how good he is at bringing out the texture and color variation in people’s faces…ala the New Years pictures. The closed eye one and the family one are great. I also love the table full of crap, but the floor is spotless. And the girl snuggled up in the blankets on the couch. It looks like a real family holiday.
